Just like all Blue Lotus Yogawear items, this garment is pre-shrunk.
We prepare our garments for easy care, so you can machine wash and tumble dry.
We recommend that you wash in cold water to maintain color vibrancy and then tumble dry medium.
The dyes we use, Procion MX type dyes, or fiber reactive dyes, are considered environmentally friendly because they don’t require harmful metal based mordants like aluminum or copper to fix the color. These dyes permanently attach themselves to the fibers which then produces superior color fastness. This means that the color doesn’t wash out with each wash. A large problem for the environment is the frequent disposal and replacement of garments. Any garment whose dye fades quickly may be discarded sooner, resulting in a greater cost to the environment when the garment is replaced. Longer lasting dyes, such as fiber reactive dyes, like the ones we use here at Blue Lotus Yogawear, may in fact reduce the cost to the environment if they extend the life spans of garments dyed with them.
